About Us
Hello, we’re Bubbaloo photography. Run by husband and wife team, Gary and Hermione Oakley, we do portrait photography with a difference. Our style is fashionable, elegant and sometimes flamboyant, but always fun and true to the person we’re photographing.We were inspired by our children, Gabriel and Luella, to create beautiful photographs. Our shots aren’t just technically great, but are also lovingly styled with clothes, accessories and backgrounds to bring out the beauty and personality of the subject. Why are we different?
With Bubbaloo you not only get a photographer but a stylist too. This gives us the edge and allows us to come up with pictures that are beautiful, ethereal, fashion-led and unique, lovingly created to suit you and your children.Our love for what we do means we create images that have people coming back time after time. It’s the ultimate accolade for us to be asked to photograph first a wedding, then a bump, then a newborn. Many clients also return each year for a shoot around their child’s birthday.
What’s the secret?
Gary’s 10 years experience in portrait and sports photography and his award-winning photographer’s eye means that those special little expressions are captured in all their beauty. He’s a dab hand at getting just the right shot, but he’s also got buckets of patience. The worst thing in the world is to rush children – of whatever age.And don’t tell everyone, but Hermione has been called a baby whisperer by clients because of her natural affinity with newborns. Invariably they sleep throughout the whole shoot because of the warm, cosy and relaxed atmosphere she creates in the studio. And if they don’t, it’s no trouble. There’s a comfy sofa and as much tea and biscuits as needed to get both parents and baby settled.The final ingredient is Hermione’s styling. You won’t find any corny props here, just beautiful, hand-picked accessories and clothes with a vintage style which help create memories to treasure.
